This training provides an in-depth knowledge of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors, which are becoming increasingly important in the financial market and especially in the investment industry. But how should banks approach ESG and the associated risks? This is where PwC, as experts in ESG, and Swiss Learning Hub, as a provider of online training, come into play. The result of the collaboration is this training series, which covers topics such as ESG regulations ESG regulations and disclosures, greenwashing risks, sustainable investing, best practices in ESG risk management and the management and reporting of sustainability data. The training concludes with a test and certificate.
Target groups, learning objectives and scope
This online training is aimed at anyone in Switzerland who is interested in or affected by ESG guidelines and/or regulations. The training consists of five learning modules, a test and a glossary module.
Learning objectives
The aim of this training is to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the growing importance of ESG factors in the financial market and the investment industry. You will learn:

Online training & certification
This online training course provides in-depth knowledge of the key ESG factors and their importance in the financial market. With interactive modules, practical examples and a final test, it optimally prepares you for the challenges and opportunities in the area of sustainability. Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate that officially confirms your ESG skills.
Module 1: ESG regulations and disclosures
This module provides an insight into the global regulatory landscape in the area of sustainability, looking at international concepts and EU standards. We take a look at the sustainability-related regulations in Switzerland.
This module aims to raise awareness of new regulatory developments in the area of ESG and to provide a better understanding of ESG compliance requirements in the financial sector.
Module 2: Greenwashing and greenwishing
This module provides an overview of the issues associated with greenwashing and greenwishing. We look at the definitions, aspects and measures taken by regulatory authorities to prevent greenwashing and greenwishing – at international, EU and Swiss level.
Module 3: Sustainable investing
In this module, Antonios and Andreas share their insights and knowledge about sustainable investing in a series of videos. They talk about how the definitions of ESG investing have changed over time, the different levels of sustainability, what investors want to achieve and the drivers of ESG investing. They then provide insights into the opportunities and challenges of ESG investing before going into detail on the six investment strategies.
Module 4: Best practices in ESG risk management
This module provides a practical guide for financial institutions with five steps to successfully mitigate sustainability risks. We look at identifying risks, analyzing them, integrating ESG risks into a risk management framework, and monitoring and communicating them through disclosure.
Module 5: ESG data governance and reporting
In this module, we look at the providers of ESG data, the challenges associated with ESG data and the regulations in Switzerland with regard to ESG data. The module concludes with a practical example of what an ESG reporting process could look like.
Module 6: Final test & certificate
To receive a certificate for the successful completion of this training, you must pass a test. This contains questions on the content of all modules. You must answer at least 80% of the questions correctly to pass the test. Good luck!
